Rajinikanth's 'Dharman' First Look Out: Thalaivar Turns a Deadly Doctor
Finally the makers have dropped a major update about Thalaivar 173 the much-awaited Rajinikanth starrer produced by Kamal Haasan has been formally named Dharman. Along with the title announcement the makers have also revealed a crisp first-look poster all social media buzzing. The poster is quite dark and intense depicting the action heavy storyline of the film.
In the poster, Rajinikanth makes a different appearance. In an operation theatre, the superstar appears in a sharp dressed suit, holding a bloody surgical instrument in his hand, standing with one foot on an unknown man's stretcher, with a composed but threatening look; it's the perfect dark-action look for the superstar. The tagline, "Deadly Doctor, ", complements the interesting first look.
Industry whispers say that the story is about the famous real life “five rupee doctor” of Chennai who retired after a glorious career. It is expected that the film will be the story of an ordinary doctor who for his entire life serves society and later ends up taking on a corrupt system. The first-look poster shows that, apart from this emotional story of a caring doctor, the film will also be a violent action saga.
What’s more, the project is being directed by promising filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu. Kamal Haasan could have quite possibly chosen from the many veteran directors, but decided to dog-eat-dog with a new-generation filmmaker. It is an indication of Kamal Haasan’s faith in the younger generation. From the first look, Ashwath is going to be putting Rajinikanth’s ever-present, larger-than-life mass image into a stylish, modern mold to attract the 21st century crowd.
Simran is also playing the female lead in the film, reuniting with Rajinikanth after many years. Raashii Khanna also has a pivotal role in this film. Comedian Yogi Babu will be roped in for comic as well, adding comedy to this action drama. Music is handled by Rockstar musician Anirudh Ravichander. Lovers are already looking forward to his powerful background score out of which the action sequences in theatres will probably be more intense.
The Raj Kamal Films International-flagged film is being announced as the Pongal 2027 release game-changer. Making something out of nothing, it’s not going to be a typical commercial affair. Under the Milestone banner, the production is looking for an action drama with a realistic, socially relevant storyline. With two stalwart superstars – Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan – on board, can we expect the Dharman to be a box-office juggernaut?
