Sharwanand’s Bhogi: Raksha Bandhan Poster Highlights Ganga’s Bond With Five Sisters
Sharwanand’s upcoming period action-drama Bhogi has created a renewed interest after a special Raksha Bandhan poster of him with his character Ganga was put out with his five sisters in the film. It has created a new dimension to the film, with even some Telugu movie fans comparing it to the brother-sister bonding in Chiranjeevi’s Hitler.
Director Sampath Nandi revealed it on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, saying that Ganga has five sisters in the story. The poster shows Sharwanand surrounded by the five women, indicating a close family bonding.
It has a vintage feel to it, with the actor also looking rugged. While Ganga is expected to be a fiery character who has a lot of action quotient in his character, it seems that he is someone who has deep family bonding, and the makers have given enough scope to explore the same.
It was only natural that Hitler would come into the mind of some after the poster was put out, as the film was known to have had an emotional core to it, with Chiranjeevi’s character having a very special relationship with his sisters. It now seems that Bhogi would also follow a similar path as the makers want to showcase the brother-sister relationship and its importance.
Sampath Nandi’s film is set in the early 60s, in a fictitious village along the Telangana-Maharashtra border. It is being made as a big-budget period action-drama, with the team having invested a lot into the film.
They have already shot a lot of crucial portions, including the climax. It was reportedly shot on a massive scale on a massive set, including hundreds of junior artistes. They have reportedly been very particular about the action sequences so as to give it the true period feel.
Sharwanand has also been working out for the role, which requires him to be rugged and fierce, especially since Ganga is expected to be one of those fierce characters who has a soft corner for his family. Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi are essaying the female leads as Sulochana Rani and Mandaram respectively.
Bhogi seems to be creating a lot of interest as it combines both period action as well as a family drama, with the actor also essaying a rugged role.
